Over three unforgettable days, AMC & TICON Africa 2025 convened at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, bringing together more than 500 ICT professionals, marketers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and innovators from 35 African countries. The gathering marked a bold step in Africa’s digital transformation journey blending high-level policy discussions with real-world solutions, cultural celebrations, and ground-breaking innovation showcases.
With the theme “Empowering Africa’s Marketing and ICT Industries: Innovation, Standards, and Global Influence,” the conference called for collective action to position Africa not just as a participant, but as a leader in the global digital economy.

Day 1: Setting the Tone for Innovation and Collaboration
The opening day carried great energy as leaders, innovators, and policymakers shared visionary insights on Africa’s digital transformation. Inspiring plenary sessions emphasized that technology must drive inclusion, impact, and livelihoods not just novelty.
At the opening plenary, Richard Kafui Amanfu, Executive Director of IIPGH, delivered a compelling address underscoring the urgent need for “impact-driven innovation” in today’s fast-changing world. He urged us to channel our creativity and resources not just toward progress, but toward innovations that deliver real, measurable benefits for our communities and the continent. Building on this, David Gowu, President of TICON Africa, reflected on the organization’s journey from its founding in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, in 2022, to its growth into a Pan-African body now spanning over 15 member countries, with Nigeria, Togo, Tanzania, and Cape Verde joining this year.
“Africa is ready, ready to lead, ready to innovate, and ready to shape the global digital landscape,” he affirmed.

Experts shared strategies for creating sustainable innovation ecosystems, aligning regulatory frameworks, and preparing Africa’s workforce for the future.
The conference highlighted youth and women’s empowerment as vital pillars for building Africa’s digital economy. By fostering inclusion and expanding access to opportunities, the continent can cultivate a new wave of innovators ready to shape and redefine Africa’s future.

The day concluded with a cultural evening at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Museum, reminding all participants that Africa’s future must be anchored in both technology and culture.

Day 2: Driving Inclusion, Skills, and Innovation
Momentum continued on Day 2 with engaging breakout sessions and masterclasses. Day 2 of AMC & TICON Africa 2025 was packed with impactful sessions. Women leaders shared insights on advancing women’s leadership in tech standards, governance, and high-growth roles. Discussions on Scaling African Innovation explored opportunities and challenges in fintech and enterprise growth, with a focus on decentralized systems, regulatory sandboxes, and Africa’s global competitiveness.
Automation and Skills Development sessions, led by UiPath’s Academic Alliance and other experts, equipped participants with practical knowledge in automation, AI, and emerging digital skills. A high-level dialogue on Bridging the Talent Gap emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between industry and education to prepare Africa’s workforce with future-proof skills. The day ended with a high-energy beach party at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, blending networking, culture, and celebration against Accra’s stunning coastline
Day 3: Ethics, Governance, and Africa’s Global Role
The closing day of TICON Africa 2025 was as impactful as it was inspiring, featuring high-level discussions on education, data protection, and digital standards, alongside a United Nations consultation on AI, data governance, and the safeguarding of Africa’s indigenous knowledge, cultural heritage, and biodiversity, underscoring the critical need to balance technology with ethics and identity.

The formal closing ceremony saw David Gowu (President, TICON Africa) presenting membership certificates, followed by a stirring plenary from Prof. Fred McBagonluri (President of Academic City University & Board Chairman of IIPGH), who urged delegates to deepen partnerships for sustainable digital transformation.
