Ghana’s growing reputation as a business process outsourcing (BPO) and IT outsourcing (ITO) hub was center stage in the latest episode of the Good Morning BSS World podcast. In its 124th edition, the podcast featured David Gowu, CEO of the Business Outsourcing Services Association, Ghana (BOSAG), who shared compelling insights into Ghana’s ascension in the global outsourcing landscape.
The conversation followed BOSAG’s successful participation in the Africa GBS Roadshow held in Berlin, Germany—an event that showcased the continent’s BPO potential to European markets.

Mr. Gowu emphasized Ghana’s competitive edge, highlighting its young, educated, and English-speaking workforce of over 400,000 professionals, with an additional 600,000 youth ready to be trained. The country’s monthly talent ramp-up capacity of 20,000 positions it as a scalable and reliable destination for global outsourcing needs. Industry leaders like Concentrix and Teleperformance have already established their presence in Ghana, underscoring its growing appeal.
BOSAG, as the national trade association for the BPO/GBS sector, is instrumental in fostering growth. The organization facilitates foreign investment, offers soft landing services for international companies, and advocates for incentives such as a 10-year tax holiday for firms exporting 70% of their services, making Ghana even more attractive to investors.

Beyond talent and incentives, Ghana’s strategic geographic location, stable democracy, and vibrant tech ecosystem including AI startups and innovation hubs—further boost its standing in the global digital economy. Mr. Gowu also touched on key markets fueling demand for Ghanaian outsourcing services: Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and the US.
Looking ahead, Africa is poised to become a global talent powerhouse by 2050, and Ghana is well-positioned to be a leader in that transformation.
