AIDEC Digital, in collaboration with Knowledge Web Center, successfully hosted a 2-day intensive training workshop at the AI Center of Excellence Tech Lab in Accra. The event brought together professionals from diverse sectors for an immersive experience in Prompt Engineering and AI model exploration, equipping participants with practical tools and insights for real-world applications of artificial intelligence.
The training was led by Dr. David King Boison, Lead Consultant of the AI Africa Project and CEO of Knowledge Web Center, along with his team of expert facilitators: Maxwell Agbenyegah, Sir Isaac Obed Saah and Shanna Takrama.

Day 1: Foundations and Vision
Dr. Boison opened the workshop with a powerful introduction to the AI Africa Project, highlighting its vision to build AI capacity across the continent. He spoke about the initiative’s key partners, including the Vanuatu Trade Commission-Ghana and the African Diaspora Central Bank, who are instrumental in supporting the project’s development and outreach. Dr. Boison also provided updates on the upcoming official launch of the AI Africa Lab Projects, scheduled for August 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Accra Digital Center. He mentioned that the event will be streamed virtually to enable remote participation, expanding access to AI learning and collaboration across Africa and beyond.
Following the opening session, Mr. Maxwell took participants through the Fundamentals of Prompt Engineering. This foundational level focuses on understanding how to design clear, targeted prompts that guide AI systems like ChatGPT and Claude to generate accurate, context-aware responses. Participants learned how prompt clarity, context, and specificity directly impact the quality of AI outputs.

Day 2: Intermediate to Advanced Learning
Day 2 began with Miss Shanna, who led the session on Intermediate Prompt Engineering. This level builds on the fundamentals by teaching techniques such as prompt chaining, contextual prompting, and task-specific formatting. Participants were introduced to more dynamic ways of interacting with AI tools for varied use cases in education, business, and technical environments.

Next, Sir Isaac Obed Saah guided attendees through Advanced Prompt Engineering, where participants explored optimization strategies, model behavior control, and multi-turn prompt design. This level prepares learners to solve complex problems using AI and fine-tune their prompts for precision tasks.
Exploring AI Models: Capabilities and Comparisons
To round off the workshop, Dr. Boison returned to deliver a detailed presentation on the most widely used AI models today, including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Mistral, DeepSeek, among others. He explained the unique strengths and use cases of each model, helping participants understand when and why to choose one over another depending on the task or domain. His insights gave participants a broader view of the evolving AI ecosystem and how to navigate it effectively.

The training was highly interactive, with hands-on practice sessions, live model comparisons, and real-world prompt crafting, all designed to ensure participants walked away with both knowledge and confidence in using AI tools.
